On the sidelines of the 4th UNHRC Session, Assistant Foreign Minister meets a number of officials in Geneva

On the sidelines of the 34th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dossari met with Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs (FCO Minister for Asia and the Pacific) in the United Kingdom Mr. Alok Sharma.

During the meeting, the Assistant Foreign Minister hailed the outstanding historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and affirmed keenness on moving with bilateral ties to broader prospects to achieve joints interests for the two friendly countries and peoples.

In his turn, Mr. Sharma lauded the ever-growing bilateral ties in various fields and affirmed desire to push for further consolidation of the historical bilateral ties towards more cooperation and coordination of stances between the two friendly countries.


On the other hand, the Assistant Foreign Minister met with the Humanitarian Envoy of the UN Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Meraikhi and congratulated him on his assignment to the current post.

He praised the broad know-how and red-letter contributions of the Humanitarian Envoy of the UN Secretary General in the diplomatic, humanitarian and development fields, wishing him constant success in his duties.

In his turn, Dr. Meraikhi valued the human rights achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of its submission of the 3rd Universal Periodic Review (UPR3) to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

He lauding the amount of efforts the kingdom of Bahrain has put into the preparation of its all-encompassing UPR3 which outlines the important human rights progress taking place in the country.


Furthermore, the Assistant Foreign Minister held a meeting with Mr. Wayne McCook, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Jamaica, during which he praised bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Jamaica and voiced desire to further boost them.

For his part, Mr. McCook uttered his country’s interest in boosting its ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all areas including human rights, praising the tremendous progress Bahrain is making in this respect.


In the same context, Mr. Dossari met with Mr. Alexandros N. Zenon, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, and commended cooperation ties between the two friendly countries, expressing desire to further consolidate them.

As to Mr. Alexandros N. Zenon, he lauded the milestone progress taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain in various domains and voiced his country’s interest to boost bilateral cooperation ties for the benefit of both friendly countries and peoples.
